Christmas Lunches, Dinner and Festive Afternoon Teas

Bookings are now being taken for Christmas lunches, please see the menu below - available in the Cafe from Wednesday 29th November to Saturday 23rd December (excluding Mondays and Tuesdays).

We are holding an evening Christmas Dinner on Saturday 16th December, bookings taken from 6.30pm.  Alcohol will be available to purchase.

Also we are offering Festive Afternoon Teas - a delicious Mulberry Tree Deluxe Afternoon Tea with some of our legendary homemade quiche and a special cake and sandwich selection, served with a glass of mulled wine.

Christmas Artisan Market - Weekend of 25th/26th November

Bigger than ever this year! With nearly 40 high-end artisan craft and food stalls in a heated marquee and Strelley Hall's function rooms, this is the ideal opportunity to purchase some beautiful hand-made gifts for Christmas.  Mulled wine and mince pies available in the Mulberry Tree Cafe courtyard. 10-4pm Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th November.

Christmas Lights Switch On - Thurs 30th November 2017

Come and join us for a family festive fun at our Christmas Lights Switch On - Free entry with children's activities, stalls, shopping in the Stables Courtyard area, and delicious Mulberry Tree hot food available.  4pm to 6pm on Thursday 30th November.

"Ghost Stories for Christmas" - Theatre at Strelley Hall

This event will be held on Wednesday 22nd November, hot food is available from 6pm with the performance starting in the Panelled Room in the main Strelley Hall building (follow signs to the Main Reception).  Alcoholic drinks will be available to purchase.  Sorry this event is now sold out, but watch out for our next ones in 2018!

Mulberry Tree Gift and Garden Shop

The new Mulberry Tree Shop is open Wednesday through to Sunday 11.30am-4pm, we are now stocking a range of lovely Christmas gifts and decorations.  Winter bulbs are on sale, you can also get these potted up for beautiful displays through the winter. Christmas trees will be available to buy at the end of November. Please come and have a browse!

Tours of Strelley Hall with Afternoon Tea

Our tours of Strelley Hall and grounds followed by a lovely Afternoon Tea at the Mulberry Tree Cafe are proving very popular, the next dates we have are:

  • Sunday 112th November (currently spaces available, please call 0115 9061305 to confirm)
  • Sunday 10th December (currently spaces available, please call 0115 9061305 to confirm)

Book now as they fill up quickly! The tours all start in the Panelled Room in Strelley Hall at 1pm - follow signs to reception, and the Afternoon Tea will be at approx 2.30pm in the Cafe.

The price is £15 per person.

Artisan Craft Weekend 24th/25th November 2017 

Bigger than ever! An ideal opportunity to purchase Christmas gifts, 'Created by Hand's Artisan Christmas fair has nearly 40 craft and food stalls in Strelley Hall and a large heated marquee.  There will also be mulled wine and mince pies available in the Mulberry Tree Cafe stable yard.

"Created by Hand" Craft Shop and Workshops

"Created by Hand" -  a gift and craft shop selling quality locally-produced items.  The shop is in the Stables area at Strelley Hall, right next to the Mulberry Tree Cafe, and stocks a wide range of handmade items crafted from ceramic, fused glass, paper, mixed media and also jewellery.


Created by Hand offer courses and workshops run by talented crafters, visit us for more information. These are held on-site in our new craft workshop.


Opening hours are 10am-4pm every day except Mondays.

Rooms available to hire

The Morning Room (capacity c.40 people max) and the Panelled Room (capacity c.60 people max) at Strelley Hall are large elegant Georgian rooms, and are both available to hire for parties, conferences, funeral wakes, weddings etc.  We also have 2 smaller meeting rooms available.  Please see our website or telephone 0115 906 1200 for more information.


In addition we also have the newly refurbished Blacksmith's Forge room which is situated between the Cafe and Created by Hand shop.  This room seats up to 12 and can be hired for private dining, meetings, seminars or workshops.  

Pilates Classes at Strelley Hall

Broxtowe Country Trail

During April we were pleased to host the launch of the Broxtowe Country Trail, a 27-mile cycling or walking trail which connects with the Erewash Valley Trail, and takes in many of the region's points of interest, e.g DH Lawrence country, Wollaton Hall, Attenborough Nature Reserve and of course Strelley village.  Leaflets are available in the Museum pen in the Cafe or to download from Broxtowe Borough Council website.

Delicious ice cream

We stock delicious Bluebells ice cream which we sell by the scoop to eat in or take out. We always have six delicious flavours to choose from such as strawberries and cream, devilishly chocolate, sticky toffee fudge or dairy free pear and elderflower sorbet. Bluebells is a local family run farm that produces homemade ice cream from their own cows' milk which travels less than 20 metres from the milking parlour to be made into ice cream. Why not pop in and try some for yourself!

Loyalty cards

We now have loyalty cards available for customers. Get your card stamped for each coffee or tea you buy and once you have 9 stamps you will get your 10th drink free. Pick a card up from the cafe and start collecting your stamps!
