Covid-19: Update for November 2020

Nottinghamshire is currently in a Tier 3 (very high) alert level for Covid-19. As such we are currently only able to accept bookings for parties from the same household or support bubble.

In addition, current local restrictions are not permitting us to sell any drinks unless they are accompanied by a substantial meal - this applies to bookings inside but does not apply to takeaways.

From Thursday 5th November when the national lockdown commences, the cafe will remain open for takeaways only, and for deliveries via the UberEats website.

The opening hours will be 10.00am until 2.30pm.  The cafe toilets will be open and regularly cleaned, car parking and Strelley Hall grounds will also remain open, however in line with the restrictions, all shops will be shut.

Christmas 2020

Once the cafe is open again in December, we hope to offer seasonal specials in addition to our usual menu.  We will be selling homemade mince pies and Christmas cake (also available to takeaway of course).

Festive Afternoon Teas at Strelley Hall

On Wednesdays and Saturdays from 5th December to 30th December 2020, (excluding 26th Dec), we will be serving Festive Afternoon Teas in the Panelled and Morning Rooms at Strelley Hall.  They will include a glass of mulled wine or warm spiced apple to start, then some delicious festive-themed sandwiches and homemade roasted vegetable quiche, and homemade Christmas cake, mini-mince pies and some of our usual Mulberry Tree favourite cakes, plus of course our famous scones with clotted cream and jam.  £18.95 per person.  Please note that during this period we will not be offering our usual Standard, Deluxe and Prosecco Afternoon Teas.

Glossed - Nails by Rosie

Our newest salon is Glossed, based in Dairy Cottage.  For all appointments call Rosie on 07583012484 or dm on instagram @glossedbyrosie. Flexible availability.
Please note that current restrictions mean the salon will be closed during the national lockdown.

Tours of Strelley Hall with Afternoon Tea

We will resume our popular tours of Strelley Hall with Afternoon Tea when restrictions are lifted, during 2021.

The beautiful grounds at Strelley Hall

We are really working hard to improve the gardens at Strelley Hall this year, our plans include building a natural woodland play area for children and creating a trail around the grounds and the Church.

Update February 2020 - we now have a fabulous new bucket swing in the grounds, and are working on the sensory garden around it, but all are welcome to use the bucket swing now.  The sensory garden is evolving and we hope to have it looking fabulous for spring time.  Thank you very much to our fantastic volunteers from Smile and Achieve social club in Aspley for all your hard work!

Book your party or event

The beautiful function rooms at Strelley Hall are the ideal place for a party, conference or funeral wake, below is the Morning Room ready for a Christmas party.  Afternoon Tea birthday or Anniversary parties are always popular. We now have an alcohol licence so can supply alcoholic drinks for events.

The Morning Room (capacity c.40 people max) and the Panelled Room (capacity c.60 people max) at Strelley Hall are large elegant Georgian rooms, and are both available to hire for parties, conferences, funeral wakes, weddings etc.  We also have 2 smaller meeting rooms available.  Please see our website or telephone 0115 906 1200 for more information.

In addition we also have the newly refurbished Blacksmith's Forge room which is situated between the Cafe and Created by Hand shop.  This room seats up to 12 and can be hired for private dining, meetings, seminars or workshops.

Pilates at Strelley Hall

Pilates classes will recommence in the Morning Room at Strelley Hall on Monday mornings sometime in Autumn 2020.  Please contact Strelley Hall reception on 0115 906 1200 for more details.

Delicious ice cream

We stock delicious Bluebells ice cream which we sell by the scoop to eat in or take out.

We always have nine delicious flavours to choose from such as strawberries and cream, devilishly chocolate, sticky toffee fudge or dairy free pear and elderflower sorbet.

Bluebells is a local family run farm that produces homemade ice cream from their own cows' milk which travels less than 20 metres from the milking parlour to be made into ice cream. Why not pop in and try some for yourself!

Loyalty cards

We have loyalty cards available for customers. Get your card stamped for each coffee or tea you buy and once you have 9 stamps you will get your 10th drink free. Pick a card up from the cafe and start collecting your stamps!
